The frame itself is larger than the listed dimension by 1 inch (As a result, the 8.5x11 frame has an outer frame dimension of 9.5x12), while the picture display area is slightly smaller than the listed dimensions by 0.35 inch for holding purposes (Hence, the 8.5x11 frame has a picture display area of 8.15x10.65 inch).
